Sprouts confirms 2016 opening in Clovis

The Fresno Bee — October 5, 2015

Sprouts Farmers Market officially announced Monday it plans to open a Clovis store.

The Bee first reported plans to open the grocery store in a former Save Mart at the Trading Post Shopping Center at Clovis and Herndon avenues in May.

The specialty grocery store with a focus on natural and organic food plans to open 27 new stores next year. Each will employ about 100 people.

The company declined to give a specific opening date, saying only that the store will open within the first three months of 2016.

The Trading Post, which will also be home to a Pieology, a Ross and a Skechers shoe store, has a new owner who is revamping the center. Work already has started with the removal of mature trees – which are being replaced – inspiring a backlash in June.

Sprouts has a store at Blackstone and Alluvial in Fresno that opened in May 2013.
